For anyone constantly chasing the feeling of fall in the Friends era, Starbucks is here for you. The iconic Pumpkin Spice Latte has become more of an August treat, honestly, and we needed a drink for actual fall weather. Starbucks must agree, because the chain has a brand-new fall drink for us: the Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte.

I have a habit of taking the lid off my coffee before I sip it (RIP to all my white sweaters), and I’m so glad I did when I tested this drink. The scent of toasted pecans and browned butter was enough to invoke some serious sensory nostalgia. Imagine mom just popped in your VHS of Hocus Pocus, you’re curled up in a crewneck and a big red Yankee Candle is flickering on the mantel.

Before I took my first sip, I knew I would order this coffee every day until Thanksgiving.

What’s in the Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte?

This latte is like homemade pecan pie in a cup. The hot drink is brewed with blonde espresso, creamy oat milk and hints of browned butter and nutty pecan. Blonde espresso isn’t anything too fancy—simply regular espresso on the lighter end of a roast. This means the resulting shot is slightly less bitter than a typical shot of espresso. It’s perfect for this sweet latte, which is finished with a sprinkling of pecan crunch topping.

There’s also an Iced Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte, which is the cold version of this drink. It’s super similar, except for the decadent layer of Salted Pecan Cream Cold Foam on top. You can order this cold foam on any iced coffee for a sweet and salty treat!

I know people think there’s too much hype around pumpkin spice everything, but I’m a no-shame PSL fan. That said, I did think the Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte was even better. I prefer my coffee to taste like coffee, and I found that the Pecan Crunch had a perfect balance of syrup, espresso and oat milk. Not having to ask for a whole milk-to-oat milk swap (my preferred nondairy milk) was a plus. I find that oat milk makes lattes even creamier, and this one was no different.

The Salted Pecan Cream Cold Foam with the Iced Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte was sweet, nutty pecan perfection. Even though this drink was iced, it still gave me all the cozy feels. I’ll definitely opt for this during early fall when all I want is a crisp breeze, but the sun has other plans.

The next time I order the Salted Pecan Cream Cold Foam, though, I’ll order it with a regular cold brew. I just don’t think I can say Salted Pecan Cream Cold Foam and an Iced Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte without having to take a breath, and I don’t want to embarrass myself in front of the barista.

For fans of the Pistachio Latte and the Pistachio Cream Cold Brew, this Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte and Salted Pecan Cream Cold Foam are two cozy, nut-based additions to the menu you’re going to have to try. Both drinks will be on the Starbucks fall menu starting September 19.
