Spiced Meatballs

TOTAL TIME: Prep: 20 min. Cook: 30 min. YIELD: 10 enchiladas
I've been bringing this appetizer to family gatherings for over 20 years.

Ingredients

Meatballs:
1 lb gound beef
2 eggs; beaten
3/4 cup Italian breadcrumbs
2 tbsp onion; chopped
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp prepared horseradish
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp hot sauce
For Sauce:
1/2 cup catsup
1/2 cup chili sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar; firmly packed
3 tbsp cider vinegar
2 tbsp onion; finely chopped
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1/4 tsp pepper
4 drops of hot sauce or to taste

Directions

Making Meatballs:
1. combine all ingredients; mix by hand
2. using 1" scoop, scoop out meat and roll into 1" balls
3. place in baking dish 1/2" apart
4. Bake @ 350 degrees until brown; about 30 minutes.
5. remove from baking dish and place on paper towels to drain off excess grease.

For Sauce:
1. Combine sauce ingredients in a large saucepan; bring to a boil.
2. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
3. Add meatballs and simmer additional 10 minutes.
4. Transfer to a Crockpot to keep warm.
